Phillip Coffey - Subsistence Farming
2021-10-23 - Green County, KY - Photo from the author's kinfolks. Subsistence Farming - By Phillip Coffey
Barter system of subsistence farming with kin and neighbors.
Days long gone of no monetary exchanges - only sweat
And toil of hay hauling and tobacco raised and harvested.
Beyond the blue-light is shining brightly for those so insightful.
Awaken early to assist others in youth, perhaps - somewhat begrudgingly
But never would I protest the command of the most urgent 'request'
From my much wiser giving Father who taught me so very well
To help others in need, by implication -ourselves, always- 'just do your best.'
