Nan Fudge and Helen Murray and Fish Fry Fundraiser

Nan Fudge and Helen Murray were just two of the many volunteers that helped out during the Adair County Food Pantry fish fry on Friday afternoon on Monroe Street. Approximately 250 people ordered lunches to help support the Food Pantry's mission.

Dakota Meyer sign being updated on the Public Square

U.S. Marine Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer has been honored with a sign on the Columbia Public Square since 2011 and it is getting an upgrade this month. City of Columbia employees Jackie Chapman and Sam Baker, at left, are pictured working on it this morning.

Food Pantry Fish Fry

Robert Flowers and Joe Flowers were busy preparing food during Friday's fundraiser sponsored by the Adair County food pantry. More than 250 people were served lunch. The food pantry would like to thank everyone that participated in this year's event.

May is beef month, recipe celebrates farmers

This salad from the Adair County Extension Agency celebrates that May is Beef Month. The Beef Steak Salad with dried cherries is a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with lots of nutrition. Tender sliced Sirloin Steak in the recipe linked to this picture is served on a bed of fresh lettuce which you can get from the Farmers Market, and is topped with dried cherries, blue cheese and walnuts.
