Birds of Kentucky: Pink-footed Goose

A pink-footed goose is drawing crowds of birders to Shelbyville today. First spotted on Wednesday evening, the bird spent the morning on a local park golf course with a flock of Canada Geese.
The species is rare enough in North America that Sibley's Guide to Birds doesn't include a listing. Audubon says, "strays that have gone the wrong direction have been found in North America only a couple of times, in eastern Canada."
