Kentucky Color: Bad Winter?!?!

We've lived here since 1992. This is my 20th September and October to observe the behavior of squirrels in and around our yard. Never have I seen such a frenzied hickory nut and walnut storing preparation for winter! It is a daylight-to-dark, seven-day-a-week enterprise. Although this may be a Rashomon effect, I'm convinced of my interpretation that a horrible cold winter is just over the horizon. Comments | Permalink
