Faces on the Square

John writes, "Here are some other items of interest that possibly many do not know were on the Public Square in Columbia. They are faces carved in stone by the architects of the Columbia Courthouse back in 1887. They are located atop of the 2 stone pillars on the Jamestown Street side entrance. Whether they are likenesses of the McDonald Brothers (designers) or of Mr. Hudson and Mr. Columbus (stone masons) is yet to be determined. Perhaps Michael Watson will know." Comments | Permalink
