Buttonbush flowers are blooming beside Green River Lake. Starting in the early fall, these flowers transition to reddish brown and resemble balls or buttons. These fruits provide food for wildlife, especially water birds such as wood ducks, over the winter. It is a moth host plant, great choice for a rain garden or erosion control, and needs space to grow tall and wide. Comments | Permalink
