Epicurean Kentuckian: Generous to a fault

On one of the warmer of this week's guess-the-weather days, we stopped for supplies at a sandwich shop located conveniently close to a local park.
When I saw "Beef Bologna, Shredded Lettuce, Sliced Tomato, Mayo, White Bread" on the menu, it sounded like a great idea for a picnic lunch. I was dreaming of an Adair County Classic, and I figured maybe the chef liked to put a leaf of iceberg on there to appease their vegan patrons.
I was a little taken aback when I received something that might be more at home at Katz's Delicatessen. It looked pretty, but I find bologna best enjoyed in more modest proportions. I performed a quick "Less is More" roadside surgery, and the picnic was greatly enjoyed. But the sandwich ended up being a multi-day affair, with lots and lots of excess roundsteak for Moose and Churchill. Comments | Permalink
