Steve Watson said one of their family's winter memories was when it was so cold as Uncle Roy delivered his mail over the ridges on horseback, he had to ask Aunt Ella to bring a pot of coffee out and pour it over his boots to get them loose from the iced stirrups before he could get off and go in the house.
