Photographer Donna Rieder writes, "This high water scene from the January 1, 2022 storm looks at the vortex at the intersection where Big Clifty Creek feeds into the mighty Russell Creek at the Sam Coffey Hole. The water in the center of the whirlpool is 14-20" lower than the water moving past it. This is another reason people should avoid waterways during flooding; should a person get sucked into that vortex there would be no way to escape." Comments | Permalink
