The love of a shelter dog is so big

"This is our rescue, Hope. We adopted her last year from the Bardstown shelter. She was in Penny’s foster home. To say Hope was a hard rescue is beyond an understatement. Hope was taken to the shelter as a wild dog. She was not domesticated at all. She was eat up with ticks, fleas, worms and had rickets. She was severely malnourished. Penny saw “Hope” in her (she was going to be euthanized). Penny worked with her and she got better.
"We adopted her knowing her story and began the hard road of making her a family pet. It took months of patiently working with her to gain her trust. She would not come to any person at first. She was damaged...really damaged. Now she will let you pet her, she tells us when she needs to go outside, comes to us and gives lots of love. I posted this to encourage people to adopt from shelters. It’s hard, but the love of a shelter dog is sooooo big. Have a great holiday season.
