The ditch that has to be crossed in order to get into retail and service businesses on the Public Square is more visible now with less foot traffic due to the Coronavirus. It often gets criticism because of looks and because of potential danger. As a City Council member, I take requests for repair from citizens to the Street Crew and they work on it immediately. Beyond that, the ditch needs a more permanent solution. The City has suggestions of placing iron grates over the ditch. That's a possibility and there may be other ideas to consider.
