Monday, February 3, 2020, the committee to nominate Columbia for the HGTV feature show 'Hometown Takeover' met its deadline to enter the city into the contest with great hopes to be selected. The show's hosts, Ben and Erin Napier, of the Home Town series on HGTV are scheduled to be in charge of the new program. To be considered, entrants had to have a population of less than 40,000; town should contain buildings with outstanding architecture that could be revitalized. Members of the committee are: Caleb Irvin with Nanwood Market, Alex Antle with Wild and Free, Elliott Burton from Golden Rule Realty, and Rhonda Loy, city clerk. Comments | Permalink
