The City of Columbia is embarking on an adventure in restoration and preservation with the purchase of this historic property which had been primarily in the Hurt family since the late 1800s. This stately, antebellum structure was erected about 1854 or 1855. It is in very bad shape at present but hopes are high for a very slow improvement process with the help of grants.
