Mighty old Elm skeleton dropping limbs on street

Cali Booth's photos of storm damage this week reminded me of this huge Elm tree we're losing on East Fortune Street in Columbia - not from this current storm season, but maybe one last year. The tree looks like it was hit by lightening from the way the trunk split open. I say we're losing it when actually the tree has lost its life, but the skeleton remains, dropping limbs on the street occasionally.
