Helmet camera helps earthlings see what astronauts see

Adair County's connection to NASA, Kenneth Hoagland, worked to help astronauts carry cameras into space so people on earth could see what they saw in outer space. The helmet cameras helped military personnel see in the dark through advanced night-vision technology, and left behind a tangible connection between a local family and one of humanity's greatest adventures. For many years the Glens Fork family just assumed this was some technician, but then they found out it was John Glenn in a photo from uncle Ken. Comments | Permalink
