birds of Kentucky: Eastern Bluebird

An eastern bluebird spotted on a recent walk in the park. All About Birds says that "Blue in birds always depends on the light, and males often look plain gray-brown from a distance." However, if you get to see them up close, males are a vivid, deep blue above and brick-red on the throat and breast.
