Beth Cowan represents FFA at Cattlemens Association

Adair County Cattlemens Association President Fred Thomas, at left, introduced Beth Cowan from the ACHS Future Farmers of America at the August 8th meeting. She requested donations from those in attendance toward Eastern Kentucky flood victims. There was a good donation from the crowd and the Cattlemens Association gave them a check for $500 representing the farm community. Money collected by the FFA will be sent to the victims of the devastating flooding in Eastern Kentucky.

Good news for kayakers

Debris and trash that have lodged under the Russell Creek Bridge on Highway 55 N are being cleared this week. Within a few days kayakers will be able to happily paddle on by with no disruptions.

Growth and debris under the bridge

Looking toward town on the Hwy 55 N bridge, that should be water we see on the left, except for all the debris and growth from heavy rains this year. It is being cleaned this week.
