The Class of 1953 will gather again this Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Black Stallion Steakhouse at noon. Looking back at the group's past activities, this is a photo sent in by George Rice of the 60th year reunion for the Columbia High School Class of 1953 on August 31, 2013 - nine years ago. Those attending that reunion were: Front row, Irene Bailey Harmon, Jeanette Bennett Page, Billy Smith, Jessie Burton Gaskin, Doris Green Robison, Martha Coffey Jones, Helen Claycomb York. Back row, George Rice, Sarah Tupman, Mitchell Tupman, Hilda Willis Jenkins, Anita Farris Hancock, Bob Jeffries, Sarah Whitney Baston, Sonny Williams, Gerald Norris. Travel: Moro Rock, Sequoia National Park, CA

Robert writes, "This Dome, named Moro Rock, is nestled within Sequoia Park. It is a very popular hike; by merely catching one of the Park's shuttle busses you can be dropped off at the starting point of the climb. It's a relatively short 1/2 mile hike to the top and back.. .but with over 350 steps, and blend in a little mix of fear of heights (if you have that fear) this makes for a really fun hike. When you reach the summit, you're at an elevation of 6,725 feet, with awesome views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range."
