Stinky Dog Stinkhorn in the back yard

2022-09-07 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Jada Foster

Photographer Jada Foster writes, "Found this Stinky Dog Stinkhorn fungi growing in my backyard this morning. I thought it was pretty unusual and wanted to share."

The Stinkhorn gets its name from the smell it emits and a common mention in mushroom circles that it can often be smelled before it's spotted.
