JIM writes, "As 1930 drew to a close, America entered the second year of what would be known as the Great Depression. Many had felt the pinch by then, but some still had discretionary funds. This ad appeared in the December 23, 1930 Adair County News. (As an aside, one of the questions asked on the census that year was whether or not each family owned a radio.)"
