JIM writes, "As 1930 drew to a close, America entered the second year of what would be known as the Great Depression. Many had felt the pinch by then, but some still had discretionary funds. Miss Vicky Pike reported the rain had turned to snow at 9pmCT as temperatures dipped below the freezing mark and by 10pm winds were whipping it around downtown.
