Farmers Market on the Square honored by City

The Farmers Market on the Square (FM2) family was complimented by Mayor Pam Hoots when she signed a proclamation declaring this week of August 13-19, 2023 Farmers Market Week in Columbia. The proclamation says in part that it is for recognition of our local Farmers Market, for their service and dedication to the community. The local Farmers Market is one of the most active in our region. They have approximately 25 to 30 vendors each Saturday morning. Today was the last weekday market of this season. The Saturday Market goes through October on the corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia. Comments | Permalink

Bat is in Frankfort for Rabies testing

This common brown bat bit our Clifty Creek Farm correspondent and she is now taking a series of Rabies shots. The bat is in Frankfort for testing to see if it has the disease. She shares her experience and says that if anyone gets bit or scratched by a wild animal, get to the Emergency Room as soon as possible and get the vaccines started. Emergency rooms are required to have the vaccine on hand at all times, but not doctor's offices nor clinics. Comments | Permalink

Beth Cowan is off to college at MSU

ACHS 2023 graduate Beth Cowan has moved into her dorm room at Murray State University where she will begin work on her degree in the agriculture field. Mom and Dad, Gale and Jamie Cowan, are pictured helping her settle into her home away from home. Comments | Permalink
