Birds of Kentucky: Sandhill Crane

Sandhill Cranes are frequent fliers in Kentucky skies, and occasionally land in great numbers in open corn fields. When they're wintering down in Florida, they can be found in 2's and 4's wandering city streets, parks and golf courses. I did my best to slowly approach this bird and another in a park, thinking that I might spook them, only to have them come so close that I had to keep backing up just to get room for a photo. Ellie Cheatham breaks all time scoring record

Adair County High School senior Ellie Cheatham broke the ACHS Girls Basketball all time scoring record in a game against Portland Christian. Her current point total sets at 1625 points and the previous record was 1618 points. The Lady Indians defeated Portland Christian in that game 64-33 at home.

Scenic Kentucky: White Fences

Tommy writes, "While in Campbellsville on Saturday, Jenny and I decided to take a ride out in the county. We headed out Hwy 68 New Lebanon Road, then turned left on Palestine Road. The farms and homes in that area must have gotten together and decided to make this White Fence Country. It kept going on for a long distance and was worth the drive." Comments | Permalink
