On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28 and 29, 2024, Marco Sioli, a professor of American history at the University of Milan in Italy will visit Columbia, where he will speak at a program on Daniel Trabue and a second program on John Muir in Kentucky.
Sioli first visited Columbia early 1999 and spoke on Daniel Trabue at Lindsey Wilson College. His visit included a reception at the Trabue house and a visit to the Trabue-Anderson Cemetery. The Anderson-Trabue Cemetery has recently been restored, cleaned, marked, and stones repaired. During his time here, he plans to revisit it 25 years later. Comments | Permalink Sharing a moment

Normal calm waters of Russell Creek were rolling high due to heavy rains and it was theorized the little plastic yellow ducks would have drowned, or been whooshed into the next county, so the annual Duck Derby fundraiser was moved inside. Drawings for prizes were held in City Hall May 4, 2024 with help from Rocky Burton, Lance's dog, and Jakki, Mayor Pam's dog. For more details call 270-384-2501. Comments | Permalink Older Photos
