Letter: Plastics are dangerous to cattle

So, this floating around in my field with 15 prime angus heifers has my drawers in a twist. This could have been chewed on by my girls and become stuck in their throat and 1-4 or more could have died. That's unacceptable whether they are worth $1 or $2,000. Right now the higher figure is close to it.
Balloons, ice bags, grocery bags, and anything thin plastic is a danger. Cattle are like children they explore with their mouth.
Please keep these contained and never release them. What goes up must come down. They don't float off to heaven. Some poor animal exploring can die a horrible death by suffocating when lodged in their throat or stomach. Please do better people. End of rant. Miss Vicky. Comments | Permalink

Sewer project at Green River Commerce Park

Getting this sewer collection set is the most difficult job of the whole expansion project, according to Bobby Morrison, projects leader on the Green River Commerce Park. He cites Cumberland Pipeline's excellent work, especially overcoming problems caused by all the rain and mud. He said that most contractors would have stopped work instead of fighting the recent weather challenges. Comments | Permalink

Pennyroyal Barrel Company meeting held Friday

Pennyroyal Distillery leaders met at the Columbia Adair County Welcome and Development Center Friday. Architects renderings shared at the meeting are works in progress for their location coming to the Green River Commerce Park. Ross Hutchison, at left, is pictured with architect Kyle, Doug Beard, Paige Nickel, Jim Rutledge, Carrie Ann, architect Derek, and Dan Griff.
