The 15th annual Spring Plow Day Festival at Homeplace on Green River featured old-fashioned mule and horse plow teams and hayrides among the many activities.

Aubrie Compton receives memorial scholarship

Congratulations to MCHS senior Aubrie Compton, center, the first recipient of the Coach Gary Richardson Memorial Scholarship. Aubrie, the 19-year-old daughter of Stevie and Valarie Compton, will receive $1,000 to further her academic career. Coach Richardson was the first Metcalfe County Girls Basketball Coach (1974-1992), Athletic Director, Metcalfe County Principal, and Metcalfe County Superintendent. Pink honeysuckle blooming downtown

Pink honeysuckle, sometimes called California honeysuckle, is more rare in these parts than gold. I think pink also has a sweeter smell and taste.
