LWU workforce shows up for Operation Christmas Child

2025-11-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Lindsey Wilson University Several LWU coaches and athletes took time out of their schedule Wednesday morning to help load OCC shoeboxes and Samritians Purse cartons on to the pup trailers at the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbia, Kentucky.

Teams represented included baseball, golf, bowling and flag football. Also pictured are members of the Metcalfe County Shoebox Mission along with central drop off coordinator Denise Fudge. Metcalfe County collected a record 1822 shoebox gifts.

In addition to these boxes, the LWU team loaded 525 shoebox gifts from Cane Valley Baptist Church and an additional 1231 shoebox gifts from Columbia Baptist Church for a total of 3578 this morning.

Service Officer will be at VFW on Nov 20

On Thursday 20 Nov 2025 there will be a VFW Service Officer, Anthony Cook, at VFW Post 6097, 500 Green Hills Road, Columbia, KY.

"Doc" Cook will be there from 10amCT until all veterans are served. This service is open to ANY veteran and there is NO charge.

New additions for LWU Winter Commencement

Lindsey Wilson University's winter graduates will receive a new diploma cover that will feature a black-and-white drawing of a campus mural by Dani Ford of Jamestown, Kentucky, that was unveiled earlier this school year.

Legacy graduates whose parents and grandparents are Lindsey Wilson alumni will receive a special legacy stole to wear during the ceremony.

The university's 122nd commencement will be held in two ceremonies -- at 10amCT and at 2pmCT -- on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Both commencement ceremonies will be held in Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.
