Dr. Cathy Abell, at left, blushed and enjoyed it when David Lewis Butler, seated, asked, "are you Gene Hoots' little girl?" Yes, and she is pictured with David's little girl, Kelly, and Mike and Margaret Owens' little girl Beth, in back, and Todd and Cayce Davenport's little boy Emmett, at right. Everyone enjoyed the August Columbia Adair Chamber of Commerce meeting hosted at Holmes Bend Marina where they are celebrating 40 years since its start, especially the founder who shared a some of his memories.

Telling the candidate what he needs to do

Vicky Pike, election official and cattle rancher, gave Adair County Judge Executive candidate Todd Davenport a talking to after the Chamber of Commerce meeting Tuesday about what his priorities need to include during the campaign. Top of the agenda was to get the mowing cleaned up in New Columbia. Todd was one of two candidates at Holmes Bend for the lunch meeting, the other being Richard Swartz who is running for Columbia City Council.
