A surprise presentation honored Red Cross 25-year volunteer Colonel Jason Rector, center, at Tuesday's Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Trabue Russell House in Columbia. Ciara West, Red Cross representative, at right, shared the gratitude for his service, saying "he never once refused a call for help in all those years. He probably wanted to sometimes, but never did." At left is Stacey Burton Biggs, TJ Regional Health Vice President and current Chair of the south central region of the American Red Cross. The newly built Adair County High School FFA Greenhouse is among the five stops on the Outdoor Home and Garden Tour coming up Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 1 to 4pmCT.
