Conservation officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are teaming with The Servant's Closet and Leslie County government to deliver supplies to residents stranded by flooding in the headwaters of Buckhorn Lake. Beginning Monday, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife responded with boats and conservation officers to navigate through the timber-choked floodwaters to reach approximately 50-100 households along KY 257. The popular "bread man" at Columbia's Farmers Market on the Square, Paul Sullivan, has asked for prayers for Cumberland County victims of continuing flooding due to Wolf Creek Dam releasing historic levels of water from Lake Cumberland. His photos show that his home is completely surrounded by muddy waters from the Cumberland River backing up into his Goose Creek location. He has been trapped for two weeks and is being told it could be this way for three to four more weeks. The photo at right shows his blocked driveway, his only way out, and he wrote, "We are in a mess here in Burkesville -- EMS brought medicine and groceries yesterday, they are a Godsend."
