Kentucky Color: July 4th Twilight Warm up

2019-07-07 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge
Billy Joe writes, "Libby and I sitting on our front porch anticipating Columbia/Adair County's official fireworks, and were treated to this July 4th Twilight Warm up! The warm up not only included some amazing fireworks but a most beautiful Thumbnail Moon swimming through a glorious, blue sky, twilight. In addition and just a few moments later, we saw what I thought was the ISS, but according to my internet search, it was only visible from Columbia in the AM of July 4th. Oh well, just another pesky UFO sighting, I suppose!"

Cumberland River high and moving fast Saturday

2019-07-07 - Cumberland County, KY - Photo by Tiffany Kessler, columbiamagazine.com
Though the water was up and moving at a much faster pace than usual, Saturday we were craving lots of nature and sunshine. We headed to Burkesville where some rentals from Mutt E. Waters allowed us plenty of time to float down the Cumberland River. It was incredibly peaceful... as long as “Captain Kasey” believed he was the one steering the canoe he shared with his dad Eddie Kessler. - TK
