A skipper on a purple coneflower, spotted at the Falls of the Ohio State Park. It looks like a twin-spotted skipper to us, but a more knowledgable ID is welcomed.

Sunset on the historic Adair Courthouse clock tower

2019-08-26 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com
Clouds parted long enough for late day sun to spotlight the historic Adair County Courthouse clock tower. Every time I take a moment to appreciate this landmark in the center of Columbia I wonder if there can be funds discovered for restoration. I appreciated a recent discussion with forward-thinking ACMS student Brody Blair who would also like to see it kept up. He had the idea that tours for a small fee would be a good way to raise money. This view is from West Fortune Street beside Columbia United Methodist Church. - LW
