Mystery: who created these quilt squares?

The Homeplace on Green River would like to give credit to the artist(s) who created these quilt squares with a plaque of some kind. George Kolbenschlag made labels naming each pattern and we would like to recognize the artist or artists as well. They were originally in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce offices several years back. The Chamber allowed them to be moved to the Lindsey Wilson College Library, which put them on display for a time. Recently the works were released to the Homeplace where they are displayed in the Arts and Entertainment Barn. -- Phil Hanna Comments | Permalink

Daughter Debbie Sinclair writes: "My parents will be married 61 years today, September 20, 2019. Much congrats to the both of them since they could only live with each other - no one else could put up with them but each other - they have made it work (just kidding mom and dad). They are so loved by their kids, grandkids and now great grandkids. They are pictured here holding their youngest great grandbaby Evelyn. They are treasures to all who are lucky enough to know them! Health Department holds Gentle Yoga exercise training

The Adair Health Department hosted a training session for Gentle Yoga leaders at the Adair Extension Office this week. Marshall University instructor Sheila Plogger helped women from three counties, Green, Russell and Adair, who had come for initial sessions or for updates. The goal of the training was to share the healthy exercises that focus on gentle stretches, breathing and relaxation. Pictured are Lisa Jo Allen, Allison Shepherd, Crystal Kingery, Bailey Brown, Eva Sublett, Sheila Plogger and Linda Waggener. Classes are held at the Health Department once or twice each year and at the LWC Holloway Health and Wellness Center at 10amCT each Tuesday morning. Comments | Permalink
