Just a few miles across the Adair/Metcalfe County line, off West 80, is an old iron bridge. Surrounding it are signs of the dire need for rain. The creek bed is partially dried and now covered with falling leaves. Even hardy thistle weeds have used all moisture reserves and turned to stick figures with fluffy tops.
