Mrs. Lilly Lasley Duvall was escorted into her former school by her nephew Craig Lasley on Saturday. She was going in to see the progress being made by the Band of Brothers and Adair Heritage Association and community volunteers. A good crowd of people gave of their time to help shore up and begin restoration of the Flatwoods School, a Rosenwald School, the last remaining one-room school in Adair County.

Someone might want to give Disney Pixar a call... I believe a couple of movie characters from their popular CARS franchise found their way into Adair County.

These two beauties call Windmill Farms home and keep watch over Hwy 768.

Even the thistle is dry

Just a few miles across the Adair/Metcalfe County line, off West 80, is an old iron bridge. Surrounding it are signs of the dire need for rain. Even hardy thistle weeds have used all moisture reserves and turned to stick figures with fluffy tops.
