Today, March 6, 2020, is a designated day of prayer and encouragement in both Adair and Taylor Counties for Rep. John Bam Carney. Citizens are called on by leaders to gather at places of work and in their homes at 11amCT/12noonET and send prayers and thoughts for healing to our friend and family member Bam who remains hospitalized since Christmas. Earlier this week Judge Gale Cowan shared a proclamation setting aside this day and time from Adair County Fiscal Court. Mayor Pam Hoots also proclaims the time for Bam by the City of Columbia. The City Council gathered after their March meeting to stand together for Bam. From left behind Mayor Hoots are: Columbia Police Chief Jason Cross, Council Members Dr. Ronald Rogers, June Parson, Mark Harris, Linda Waggener, Sharon Harris and Craig Dean.
