Lamium purpureum tends to turn entire fields purple this time of year. One web site, ediblewildfood.com, claims that the scientific name has the Greek translation 'the devouring purple monster." We couldn't find any other sources to corroborate that theory, but we like the sound of it, nonetheless. Comments | Permalink
