Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first Earth Day and in these trying Coronavirus times, we're each on our own as to how to commemorate it and think of our planet. Remember that even though the county recycling center is closed, the Adair County Transfer Station is still open to the public from 7am-4pmCT Monday through Friday and from 8am-noonCT on Saturdays. The Transfer station is located just past Walmart, off Hwy 61, at 877 L Willis Road, Columbia, KY. Comments | Permalink The Green River in Greensburg

According to Wikipedia, Glechoma hederacea is known by lots of names, including ground ivy, gill-over-the-ground, creeping charlie, alehoof, tunhoof, catsfoot, field balm, and run-away-robin. While it's fought in the North American lawn care industry, this aromatic, perennial, evergreen creeper of the mint family Lamiaceae is used as a salad green in many countries, and European settlers carried it around the world.
