Signs of Spring: Six Spotted Tiger Beetle

These brilliant green bugs aren't the dreaded Emerald Ash Borer. According to Wikipedia, Cicindela sexguttata "are commonly found in deciduous forests in between Minnesota, Rhode Island, Ontario and south to Kentucky, and are easily recognizable by their large, white, overlapping mandibles."

Comment re: Birds of Kentucky: White-Chested Rednecker?

Marie Freeman writes, "It is a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I don’t have as good of a camera and I couldn’t get any closer without scaring them - you can see four feeding at my feeder’s right there if you were close by. It’s easy to distinguish because they’re black and white, very unusual and beautiful bird."

Dakota Smith writes: "Lafawn is the Director of Student Activities, and she has worked at LWC for almost 6 years! Her favorite thing about LWC is the loving community. 'We say #LWCisFamily, but it isn't just a hashtag. We use it as our mission and we live it daily. I also enjoy working with the students. LWC has the best students and it is fun to work with them.'
