Hoots family together for LWU awards event

Pamela Hoots, a 1975 graduate of Lindsey Wilson University, had her family with her when she was honored with the Distinguished Service Award at the Alumni breakfast. She made Columbia history when she became the city's first female mayor, serving from 1989-93. She returned to the office in 2018 and was reelected in 2022. A 30-year human resources professional, she was named the Human Resources Professional of the Year for the state of Kentucky and was also the first news director of WAIN-AM/FM in Columbia. Judge Bryant proclaims Nov as Family Literacy Month in Adair

Adair County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant signed a proclamation for Adair County Adult Education today, Thursday, October 30, 2025, declaring the month of November as National Family Literacy Month in Adair County.

Travel: Model for Sydney Opera House

The Arnolds visited the Utzon Center, named for Danish architect Jorn Oberg Utzon (1918-2008) while they were in Aalborg. Among the displays is an architect's model of Utzon's most well-known project, the Syndey Opera House.

Located on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour in Australia, the Syndey Opera House is widely regarded as one of the world's most famous and distinctive buildings, and a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture.
