Proud moment for Adair County Schools

The official ceremony to open the new Adair County Middle School took place Friday afternoon with Superintendent Faulkner, board members, staff, students and dignitaries represented at the ribbon cutting. The facility was open to the public for tours for the rest of the afternoon. Classes begin Monday, August 24, 2026.

Sound announces a Goodyear Blimp overhead

Katelynn writes, "I was outside working and heard a strange whooshing sound in the sky. What are the odds that it just so happened to be one of the Goodyear Blimps?! It was most likely "Wingfoot One" based on what i can make out written on the tail. Despite the common title, however, it is actually technically a Zeppelin and Goodyear has four such aircrafts currently in operation. You'll see strange things if you'd only look up from time to time..."

Late afternoon sky over Downtown Columbia

For a brief time Saturday, clouds rolled in and brought a storm and rain. It passed on and left patchy fog.
