As of October 7, 2020, Columbia and Adair County numbers of new cases put us in the red zone as a Coronavirus critical hotspot. An unverified word on social media is that the spike in cases happened after a church held crowded revival meetings resulting in multiple people becoming infected with the virus.
Correction: This article previously identified a guest pastor as one of those infected, and this is not the case. We apologize for the confusion.
Citizens are called on to work hard to protect ourselves and others by wearing masks and keeping a distance of at least 6 feet between ourselves and others in public places.

Lindsey Wilson College announced a record enrollment for the academic year 2020-21. Overall enrollment numbers climbed by 106 students with total enrollment surpassing 2,700 students for the first time in the 117-year history of the college.
