Mystery: what could be attacking the porch?

Mystery: what in the world could be attacking the porch railing? Since the start of the Pandemic, something has apparently "chewed" into the rails on the porch. We have wondered about the animals that live in this downtown neighborhood beside Town Creek - groundhogs, squirrels, raccoons, dogs, cats, wood bees, wasps, birds/woodpeckers - but so far no one who is regularly observing it can figure it out. Reminded of a favorite play, Greater Tuna, where Aunt Pearl exclaims about an egg sucking dog, "where's my bitter pills?!" Comments | Permalink

National First Responders Day honors Adair's best

It was an honor to sign the proclamation (social distance style) Wednesday, October 28, 2020 to proclaim National First Responders Day in Adair County. Everyone associated with each of these organizations is appreciated more than they know. Especially this past year, they have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help keep our citizens as safe as possible. Hoss Cartwright's new toy, Little Joe

This is Little Joe, Hoss Cartwright's new toy on the Pampered Angus Ranch. He thinks Hoss is to be chased through the house around 5am. Not working for me at that hour.
Little Joe's momma decided to hide from him a while and he was boohooing at the back door, talking to Hoss through the door, so I let him in, put flea stuff on and turned him loose. He’s been on Hoss’s heals the last 10 days. I now get it why momma cat disappeared. She’s back now that his butt is inside. Cat crate may become necessary to give Hoss a break. Comments | Permalink
