Scenic Kentucky: Old Fayette Co. Courthouse

Constructed in 1899, the old Fayette County Courthouse, located at 215 W. Main Street in downtown Lexington, underwent numerous mid-20th century changes to remain a functional court building. The courts eventually moved to newer and larger spaces anyway, and the building sat empty for several years.
A renovation, completed in 2018, has returned it to its former architectural grandeur, and reclaimed the space as combination restaurant/bar, event and office space. It is currently home to the Lexington Visitor's Center, Zim's Cafe, The Thirsty Fox, and more. You can read more about the project at kentucky.com. Comments | Permalink

Boats queued up at Halcomb's Landing on Saturday morning for the Kentucky B.A.S.S. Nation Jr./High Qualifier tournament. The competition was moved to Lake Cumberland last minute because of poor conditions are Herrington Lake. The next Qualifier is scheduled for May 15, 2021 at Barren River Lake. Comments | Permalink

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is approximately 70 miles from downtown Columbia, and features acres and acres of outdoor trails. According to Wikipedia, "with 34 original 19th-century buildings and 2,800 acres (1100 hectares) of farmland, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill claims to be 'the largest historic community of its kind in America.'"
