Prominent Moth

Cumberland County Chicken Snake

Jason Stailey caught this Chicken Snake in the hills of northern Cumberland County last week. He said it needed to live because it is a "good snake" - they help control many other pests around the yard.
Jason said, "He was a good sized snake. And they are good to have around. I watched a video of a rattlesnake in a guys yard that he was trying to run off. A large black snake comes along while he's video taping and grabs the rattler then kills and eats it. Most people want to kill any snake they see not knowing many of the non poisonous ones are very helpful." Comments | Permalink
