On afternoon patrol in Columbia Thursday, CPD Officer Gary Roy observed several children playing together outside, stopped and gave the children badges. While talking to them and the family, he learned it was one of the children’s birthday. Officer Roy soon returned and presented Alexa, pictured with Officer Roy, with ice cream and popsicles for her fourth birthday to share with her siblings and friends. I would like to once again share the beautiful bloom of the Woodland Sunflower with you. Yes, they do have seeds but as you might suspect, they are smaller than the Common Sunflower seeds to which we've grown accustomed. As you might or might not have guessed, Sunflowers are in the Daisy family and are a favorite of many songbirds, whether they are found at your feeder or in field or forest! Comments | Permalink
