Ripening grapes in Cane Valley, Adair Co., Kentucky

2021-08-06 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.com
Robert writes, "August is the month when my small vineyard yields its fruits. Typical of the Concord grape is the uneven ripening. My vineyard is purely organic, no spraying of any kind...just harvest what is useable. Couple winters back, half of my vineyard was destroyed by late freeze, but I was able to restart the plants by letting a few new buds at the base of the original vine grow into new plants. Wasn't much of any kind of harvest last year, but this year is making up for the difference."
