Phillip Coffey - Alone in the Darkness

ALONE IN THE DARKNESS by Phillip Coffey Saw a lone sycamore in the distance against the sky of blue.
She so sublimely beckoned me to come, methodically, steadily closer.
Following her command, she began whispering-much about family history.
Most proudly spoke of Zaccheaus climbing distant kin the Savior to see.
Much said about her personal history simmering in the summer heat
Snow, hail, ice and sleet, storms aplenty, wind speaking quite discreetly.
Her limbs breaking, clashes of thunder, fear of lightening-trembling.
Alone in the darkness, Christ kneeling, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Going through the back roads of my youthful stomping grounds from Edmonton to Greensburg, KY, the lone Sycamore tree caught my eye on the Mell-Cork road. Comments | Permalink More snow north of Adair this time

There's more snow north of Adair County as opposed to the last two storms which graced the southern part of the state with more coverage. This view is of Heartland Parkway road work leaving Campbellsville, looking into the hills of Marion County. Comments | Permalink Hole appeared in Tutt Street

A sizable hole was discovered by early Friday morning drivers on Tutt Street where it meets up with Burkesville Street. It has since been reported to have been repaired but travel carefully as utility work continues on streets all around town, added to the danger of black ice making roads slick from the passing snows and freezing temperatures.
