National Library Week declared at ACPL in Columbia

2022-04-04 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo from Mayor Pam Hoots
National Library Week begins today - give a shout out to all our friends who make the Adair County Public Library such a special place all throughout this week of April 3-9, 2022. In the proclamation, reasons for celebrating include: libraries have long served as trusted and treasured institutions for all members of the community regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or socioeconomic status; they are cornerstones of democracy, promoting the free exchange of information and ideas for all.

In the picture standing behind Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan, left, and Columbia Mayor Pam Hoots, at right, are: Ernestine Bennett, Genealogist; LeeAnn Jessee, Library director; Anita Riddle, Library Clerk and Cataloger; Aleina Milligan, Children and Young Adult Librarian; Cynthia Coomer, Library Board member, Juanita Scott, Bookmobile Librarian; Mary Knight, Library Board member, and Phil Hanna, Genealogist.
