1971 - site of the Dewey Smith home where three people lost their lives Tuesday night. The victims were Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Smith and visiting neighbor Mrs. Hershel Cundiff. The home sat along side peaceful Butler Branch shaded by a gentle rising hill in back. A peaceful place that looked safe from the ravages of nature. "Back in March a good friend Bobby Elder and I decided to explore some old train tunnels and we found two in Somerset. The outcome was amazing. There were two about 500 feet from each other. As we finished the last one it came out on beautiful Lake Cumberland. The pictures were amazing once in the tunnel." - Marsha Burke Comments | Permalink Older Photos
