Parkway shut down, traffic backing up

Columbia Police Chief Jr Murphy asks that motorists reroute due to the collision on the LBN Cumberland Parkway. Westbound traffic on the Parkway needs to re-route on Hwy West 80.
Motorist Will White took this photo while he was stuck in the slow lane of the LBN unable to move until two semis in the fast lane could move. He reports having just been able to cross the median and head to Edmonton. Comments | Permalink

Hanging flower baskets being readied for downtown

City employees Jackie Chapman, left, and Tim Smith are getting ready to start hanging the new flower baskets which will grace Columbia's Public Square this spring and summer. One basket will be hung on each of the old fashioned lamp posts. Walkway painting will begin soon. They haven't been updated for three years and the City felt it was time to make them more easily visible to drivers and pedestrians. Comments | Permalink
